PUCP STUDENTS REPRESENTATIONS ABOUT THE CONTROVERSY WITH THE ARCHBISHOP

Friday, March 4, 2011 Students of PUCP express their rejection of the
media campaign launched against the PUCP
and how the Archbishop of Lima has been expressed regarding the development of the dispute.

Statement of the Board of Presidents FEPUC (03/03/2011) PUCP students, with the latest on the conflict that our university has with the Archbishop of Lima, express the following:

1.

repudiate the tabloid and sensationalist campaign has long taken the

Correo against our university and the obsession of its director, Aldo Mariátegui by discrediting our university.

2. We reject the statements Juan Luis Cipriani, who argues that our university has been conducting a disinformation campaign on the case. On the contrary, we believe that it is he who surreptitiously and instrumented his office as Archbishop of Lima, orchestra strong psychological campaign against the PUCP.

3. Mail Access, staunch ally of Cipriani, a court decision which the university had not yet been notified -

even to quote extracts from the same

- Makes us think that the counterpart of the PUCP resort to shady practices to win the trial at all costs.

4. We reiterate support for our university to undertake actions to defend their autonomy, pluralism and democratic form of government. 5. The MD has developed a

FEPUC

document which explains why it spread by mail regarding the conflict with Cipriani is false. Also continue to report to refute those who seek to publicly discredit or divide our community. reaffirm that our action is independent and agreed by the students in our representative bodies. The students, organized and united, firmly defend the autonomy of our university.
